Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some
questions people from all over the world are asking. Believe it or not these questions about
Canada were posted on an International Tourism Website. Obviously the answers are a joke;
but the questions were really asked!

Q:I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow?( USA )
A. We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.

Q:Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street? ( USA )
A: Depends on how much you’ve been drinking.

Q:I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto. Can I follow the railroad tracks? ( Sweden )
A: Sure, it’s only six and a half thousand kilometres, take lots of water.

Q: Are there any ATM’s (cash machines) in Canada ? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto , Vancouver , Edmonton and Halifax ? (England)
A: What, did your last slave die?

Q:Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada ? (USA )
A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle-shaped continent south of Europe . Ca-na-da is that big country to your North…oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.

Q:Which direction is North in Canada ? ( USA )
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we’ll send the rest of the directions.

Q: Can I bring cutlery into Canada ?( France )
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys’ Choir schedule? ( USA )
A: Aus-t ri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is…oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Vancouver and in Calgary, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.

Q: Do you have perfume in Canada ? ( Germany )
A: No, we don’t stink.

Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Where can I sell it in Canada ?( USA )
A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather.

Q: Can you tell me the regions in British Columbia where the female population is smaller than the male population? ( Italy )
A: Yes, gay nightclubs.

Q: Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada ? ( USA )
A: Only at Thanksgiving.

Q: Are there supermarkets in vancouver and is milk available all year round?( Germany )
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gathers. Milk is illegal.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada , but I forget its name. It’s a kind
of big horse with horns. ( USA )
A: It’s called a Moose. They are tall and very violent, eating the brains of anyone walking close to them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking.

Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? ( USA )
A: Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

It is almost like SARS all over again. The only thing we can hope for this time is that it is managed and everyone has learned from the SARS mistakes.

There have been 20 confirmed cases of Swine Flu in the United States and 6 confirmed cases of Swine Flu in Canada (Nova Scotia and British Columbia) and the cases are expected to rise as it spreads to more and more people.

It is times like this that you can see how quickly something could spread and could potentially wipe out the population really quickly. Not that Swine Flu has the ability to do that, but it just makes you realize how quickly things can spiral out of control.

I feel bad for people in Mexico, especially Mexico City. It must be rough on them having most of the city shut down and being worried about going outside of your house. I will keep an eye on this story just as anyone else and hope we can get it contained before it becomes a major problem.

I think Mexico will have to do some major PR work to get people to come back after this is all over. Canada went through it after SARS, we had to spend loads of money just to keep people coming up here and not being afraid in the wake of SARS.

Well, I’m sure all of you have managed to see Billy Bob Thornton’s radio show interview on CBC (In Toronto) where he had a hissy fit and refused to answer questions after the host introduced him and said that he had a very distinguished Acting/Directing career.

Apparently Billy Bob Thornton does not want to even mention that he was an Actor before his music “career”. Who do these people think they are. They come on a show to promote their band and they start dictating what can and can’t be talked about? I have no idea why actors and musicians, among others, will start bossing people around when they are getting free publicity and promotion.

Grow up Billy Bob Thornton! Get over yourself.

Anyway, he performed at Massey hall and did not apologize at all for his comments about Canada or the radio show host. He still thought that he was fully correct after insulting us and the host. Some people will just never learn and will always be cocky and stuck up. He had the nerve to call the CBC radio show host an “A-Hole”. No, Billy Bob, I believe you are the only one who thinks that, the rest of the audience were probably thinking the same thing about you.

He claims that is Canadian comment was a comment about the host and he did not know his name. This was a poor attempt at backtracking or covering it up. It was a clear comment and he generalized Canadians as a whole and should just accept what he said and not try to deny it. I personally don’t care. A comment from Billy Bob Thornton about our people as a whole; isn’t much.

I just don’t understand how people can think that they are so great or almighty that they can dictate what is allowed to be asked of them. I mean if you’re grilling someone about their personal family, then I can see how they are intruding. However, this host did not ask him about his acting career, he simply introduced him AS an actor. Billy Bob Thornton, I have news for you! You were, are, and will always be known as an actor and director as well as a musician. Just learn to deal with it.

Some people have compared this interview to Jaoquin Phoenix’s interview with David Letterman. I can see why they say that but Jaoquin Phoenix appeared to not be present or in a good state to be on that show conducting an interview. Billy Bob Thornton just seemed like a stuck up “do what I say because I’m great” person on this radio show.

I personally like him as an actor and think he is very talented. However, his personality seems lacking. Although, I would like to see if he acts like this in any other interviews or what comes of this.

EDIT: I have just read that the Canadian Government has demanded an apology! Good for us!

I wanted to keep this short since I’m at work and really angry at what I have just seen. I don’t know if this will help people to see how ignorant these people are of their neighbours?

While I have never had a problem with FOX News they have crossed the line. To have these people representing a “News Agency” is actually pathetic. This is another clear example of how people (…EDITED TO BE NICE…) can get jobs on TV.

I would like to believe that news shows will do research on a subject before they go running their mouth on TV. This is clearly an example that proves that they do not. They go on TV with what they think is correct with no facts backing them up whatsoever.

It is also nice that they can make fun of the Canadian Military and say we are only doing it because we rely on America 100%, who are actually losing their lives 100+ of them) to help the Americans in their fight against terrorism. Someone mail them a history book and give them an internet connection to do some real research.
