Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some
questions people from all over the world are asking. Believe it or not these questions about
Canada were posted on an International Tourism Website. Obviously the answers are a joke;
but the questions were really asked!

Q:I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow?( USA )
A. We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.

Q:Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street? ( USA )
A: Depends on how much you’ve been drinking.

Q:I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto. Can I follow the railroad tracks? ( Sweden )
A: Sure, it’s only six and a half thousand kilometres, take lots of water.

Q: Are there any ATM’s (cash machines) in Canada ? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto , Vancouver , Edmonton and Halifax ? (England)
A: What, did your last slave die?

Q:Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada ? (USA )
A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle-shaped continent south of Europe . Ca-na-da is that big country to your North…oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.

Q:Which direction is North in Canada ? ( USA )
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we’ll send the rest of the directions.

Q: Can I bring cutlery into Canada ?( France )
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys’ Choir schedule? ( USA )
A: Aus-t ri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is…oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Vancouver and in Calgary, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.

Q: Do you have perfume in Canada ? ( Germany )
A: No, we don’t stink.

Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Where can I sell it in Canada ?( USA )
A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather.

Q: Can you tell me the regions in British Columbia where the female population is smaller than the male population? ( Italy )
A: Yes, gay nightclubs.

Q: Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada ? ( USA )
A: Only at Thanksgiving.

Q: Are there supermarkets in vancouver and is milk available all year round?( Germany )
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gathers. Milk is illegal.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada , but I forget its name. It’s a kind
of big horse with horns. ( USA )
A: It’s called a Moose. They are tall and very violent, eating the brains of anyone walking close to them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking.

Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? ( USA )
A: Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

Leave it up to Canada to be late for something lol.

Stephen Harper was a no-show for the G-20 group photo shoot in London. There was speculation as to why he was late and the apparent reason for this was that he was in the toilet. Seriously? Could they not have come up with a better excuse, even if that was the real reason?

Sometimes honesty is not always the best policy. Oh well, I guess we get the honor of being made fun of again by the media!

If you were the on the publicity team for Stephen Harper would you have gone with the honesty is the best policy or made up something creative?

I just wanted to take this time to make this super short post to get peoples opinions on this great excuse of a story!

A water leak Thursday night, flooded a transformer room and knocked out power to thousands of residents. Toronto is currently experiencing unusually bitter colds dipping past -20 degrees Celsius.

The worst part of this was the fact that the TTC had no subway service between Islington station and St. George station. This is basically half of the city. They had shuttle busses running but it was no good, the line-ups for the buses were way longer. By the time the buses got to the station they were already so packed no one could get on.

I realize there is no way to provide adequate transportation levels for the volume of people that get the subway usually. I just think it sucks!

I hope the commute home is a lot easier for these folks!

Stay warm.

More posts coming soon, I’ve been swamped with work.

The real reason: “The Leap Year”.

It looks like Y2K finally hit! According to MSNBC they are working on a fix for it as we speak so it should be up and running soon!

I’m just checking in to throw a quick post in about Barack Obama. I personally do not see why this is such a big deal? It seems like there is more buzz for Barack Obama topless than there has been for any male or female topless pictures from beaches before. It is still all over the news and a highly searched term on the internet. It’s on a lot of blogs online (including this one now :P)

I know people have said that Barack Obama has celebrity status already and he is not even President. I do not argue with that fact and I think it is kind of cool. The fact that people are showing this much interest in the president makes me think that he will be under more pressure to make decisions that are best for the country and not for his own agenda.

I hope that all this pressure is for the better and does not make him make poor decisions. I guess only time will tell.
